4 Reasons to See Your Dentist Before Summer Vacation
When it comes to summer vacation, the excitement is palpable. After studying for exams or saving up your PTO all year, many people can’t wait to finally go on the trip they’ve been planning since last summer. With all the excitement revolving around this time of year, your smile may not be on the top of your priority list. Even so, right before summer vacation is often the best time to go see your dentist. Read on to learn why!
Reason #1: A Vacation-Ready Smile
Whether you’re planning on spending your summer vacation in another country, at the beach, or at your local swimming pool, photos are a must. To ensure that you look the best in your summer pictures, consider visiting your dentist beforehand. They can help you correct oral health issues for a more gorgeous grin. Additionally, if your smile can use an upgrade, ask them about what cosmetic dental services they have available.
Reason #2: Convenient Appointment Slots
In the weeks before summer vacation, many people are too focused on organizing last-minute plans, securing hotel rooms, and double-checking that they were approved for time off to think about seeing their dentist. For that reason, it’s the perfect time to do so. There are often convenient appointment slots open, which allows you to quickly and easily receive the care you need.
Reason #3: More Recovery Time
Working or going to school five days per week can make it difficult to find the time to receive the treatments you need from your dentist. That’s why it’s wise to schedule procedures right before summer vacation. By doing this, you can give yourself more time to rest and relax without having to worry about rushing back to class or work.
Reason #4: Prevent Dental Emergencies
Dental visits should be attended by patients every six months so you can get a checkup and cleaning. Unfortunately, some people wait until an issue arises to go see their dentist. During dental checkups, your teeth and gum line will be thoroughly cleaned to remove tartar and plaque that’s built up since your last visit. Your dentist will then perform a thorough examination of the oral cavity. This will allow them to identify oral health issues as well as signs that you may be developing any. By keeping up with your biannual visits, you can prevent these issues from arising in the first place
As you can see, there are several reasons why it’s wise to see your dentist before you go on summer vacation. This will allow you to keep your smile healthy and looking its best all summer long!
